Brown v. Board of Education

Fifty-four years ago today, the Supreme Court of the United States handed down one of the most historic decisions in the unanimous 9-0 ruling on Brown v. Board of Education (1954).
The decision overturned the ruling in Plessy v. Ferguson (1896) that established "separate but equal," ruling that it was unconstitutional.
Today, we celebrate this glorious decision and reaffirm our commitment to the betterment of our schools and the advancement of equality for all.

Dearest Democrats,
Celebrate Brown v. Board of Education by learning a new language, even just a little!
I truly hope that people remember that our laws are built on prior presidencies. Therefore it is very important to protect all the early laws. Because the removal of one old law may set into motion of striking down a good law that exist in our books today. Remember many of the old laws are written in Latin or French; …just because they are not in English does not mean these laws are not there to protect you. These laws in languages other than English should be more than enough to make one think about learning a second or third language so learn a little bit more about your own history and the laws that protect everyone in the land! ...and remember those laws are not in English!
Don’t let these rah, rah, Yale cheer-leader type with their draft dodger friends think its ok to remove these non-English laws from the books. Those actions were the most seditious act of treason and un-patriotic acts ever committed by the repugnant x-tian reich and the de-evolving monkey they put into the white house against the American people.
Please learn to read a little Spanish. Its Latin roots will help you understand Latin used in our laws and our words a little better. Please learn a little French because many of the earliest laws written about protecting land owners and farmers are in French! Learn a little German, so one can understand why and how Martin Luther started the movement that ended with the Protestant Reformation.
Don’t let these idiots from the right rewrite history and rewrite the bibles teachings. They are wrong and you have the power to learn the truth by learning the various languages.
Celebrate Brown v. Board of Education by not allow any group to restrict who you are by cheating you from the education you deserve. Learn, learn to read and learn to educate yourself. It's the greatest give God gave all of us!!

Brown v. Board is yet another triumph of American liberalism. Had the conservatives had their way, we'd still be under the "serperate but equal" policy.

On this warm summer-like day, outside my door
I can not ignore the facts no more
National-Inflation-recession, and the Iraq War
Just down the street, neighbors&friends lose sleep
over the subprime creep
They tried counting sheep
But, awoke broke on the cold concrete
Cursing our leaders "Them D.C. "bleep-bleep..."
Turned on the news in vain
Only to view the Reduplicates and McCain
Still running the same political blame game
With no relief at the gas pump in sight
Our "Augh Shucks" Prez is tapdancin'and singin'"Everything is going to be alright"
Switched the channel& it's the Supreme Ct. next on
The Marybury v Madison legacy, again, was trampled & stepped on
No judicial restraint in the great 2000 deception
Err, I mean, the 2000 election
We stood by with no pips, squeaks, or objections
Flipped through a few more channels on the remote
Roy Blunt sounding off on the Golden State& I'm still broke
Millions of Americans still with no health coverage & that's no joke
All the while, the VP is on the Emir's yacht practicing his fishing stroke
College for our kids is a fast fading dream
In the "New World Order" scheme of things
Have our leaders sold their souls
All to willing to wheel and deal our future over a dice roll
Still, the average American is still getting kicked to the curb
Nothing anymore is absurd
I now know for sure
I must get off the couch and make my own cure
That stimulus package went too fast
Spent it on $4.00 a gallon worth of gas
Next time I go to the store, I'll be walking my fat *ss
It's easy
The corrupt and sleazy
Left us, this time, without the Reagan cheezy
Took our money and gold
Long gone to the highest bidder, slamdunk, and sold
Why
Can't deny
Our future now resides
In foreign lands
Corporate hands in Dubai

What are you talking about?? Plessy vs. Ferguson was a democratic thing. It took place in the south after the Civil War, which was run by white democrats at the time. Brown vs. the board happened while Ike was president, a republican. Get it straight before you go off on the "champions of libralism" BS. Plessy was a compromise because southern, white dems didn't want to cooperate with the federal government after the war. The social structure of the south had to change before the Brown ruling or it wouldn't have happened at all. I hate when people try to take credit for things they had no control over in the first place.
